Diabetes is a serious,chronic disease. What role do psychologists play in its management? What factors are involved in diabetes treatment that benefit from psychological intervention? What does existing research indicate about the importance and effectiveness of psychologists assisting in diabetes management?

In 2016, the American Psychological Association published a special issue of its academic journal, “American Psychologist,” focused on diabetes.You are encouraged to explore an article or two in this special issue while creating your response to this discussion question.
